ZyXEL, manufacturer of leading edge broadband connectivity products, was looking for new and exciting ways to turn UK consumers on to its 'digital home network' concept. ZyXEL's neat (and virtually wireless) 'plug‑and‑play' devices allow you to get high speed internet access, view downloaded movies, listen to music stored digitally anywhere at home or to gameplay online, piggy‑backing a house's electrical wiring. Having previously only accessed customers via resellers, and dealing with a competitive connectivity marketplace, ZyXEL needed clearly understandable consumer proposition and an online presence with impact.

We made a simple to use consumer‑facing website, where customer experience features over product specification. 'Connect', 'Play' and 'Entertain' landing pages contain video that allow the visitor to see the products in use in different contexts around the home.

For the more technically aware ‑ we included the facility to dig deeper to find out more about such whizzy things as ADSL cable routers and homeplug adaptors.

To make things even more customer‑oriented, we added a product selection function. Customers just indicate their anticipated usage and their needs with a few mouseclicks, which brings up appropriate product profiles.
