Darren Long
Who am I?
Hello, I'm Darren and my main responsibility is managing the studio and making sure all the work is done to a high creative standard, and all time scales are adhered to.
My Experience
After 3 years at college, and four years at University to get my goal, a degree, I decided it was about time to get my first proper job! I left University on the Friday and started life out as a Junior Designer at a leading agency on the Monday, where I stayed for 6 years. It was a steep learning curve, and very different from my University days, but I was able to gain all the necessary skills that I needed to work in a fast paced advertising agency.
I started work here at BDA 2 years ago, and have seen the company grow from strength to strength. My role has changed too, putting all the skills I've learnt over the past 8 years to the test and I'm now managing the studio working along side the creative director ensuring everything we produce is spot on! I love the fast paced advertising agency life, it makes you feel alive, even though sometimes it's hard to see the wood through the trees!
Outside of Work
My life seems to be busy outside of work spending most of my time with my wife doing DIY on our house and sailing down on the east coast with my dad. I've sailed since I was about 5 when my grandad gave me my first sailing dinghy and have completed several sailing courses enabling me to sail dad's yacht competently. Whenever I get any free time, I love going out on my mountain bike with my wife, or nipping down the coast and going out on the boat! I love the outdoor life!
Other Interests
I am fascinated by latest gadgets and I love all the Apple products, there wicked! I also enjoy doing DIY at home, and get a great sense of achievement when I do something myself.
